Our Story

The next generation of charter schools

Edison School of Innovation was founded by local teachers who are concerned about low performing students, the lack of rigor in instruction, and poor teacher retention in the community. We believe that students of all socioeconomic status have the right to a relevant and engaging learning opportunity to become high achievers. Six essential beliefs in learning became our educational philosophy and all learning decisions are based on those criteria.

Our learning model is unique because project-based learning is paired with a knowledge-driven curriculum. Teachers strategically use the curriculum and technology to prepare students for the unknown challenges of the future by helping them learn to solve problems in a responsible way. Our results have been profound in terms of both student academic growth and emotional development, and this has been accomplished because of the collaboration between our community of parents, students, and teachers, and our belief that all students have the ability to succeed.
